Using your range

You have a full range available on your instrument.

Range is one of the elememts you can use to add variety to your solo.

The same passage played in a low register sounds different when played high.

Need to determine waht range you wnt to use to start your solo — low, middle or high

Then vary the register as appropriate over the course of teh solo.

don’t stay in a single register throughout.

Move from high to low or low to high

or to middle

to keep your solo interesting.

Use full range of instrment — work to extend the range of yoru solo

Play similar passages in different ranges.

Don’t limit to a comfortable regsiter.

Push the range to full effect.
